Het Wormer- en Jisperveld is het grootste aaneengesloten veenweidegebied van West-Europa. Vanuit een kano kun je tussen de honderden (w)eilandjes varen en van de bijzondere natuur genieten.
Bijna alle soorten weidevogels die in Nederland voorkomen broeden hier: grutto, kieviet, tureluur, scholekster en graspieper. Ook biedt de waterrijke natuur een thuis aan zeldzame planten zoals zonnedauw, heide, orchideeën en koekoeksbloemen.
